ParKam & Curtin University have been named as the winner of the Excellence in Technology & Innovation (Off Street) category at the 2019 Parking Australia Industry Awards. The award was presented at an industry dinner at Metropolis Events in Melbourne on 28 November, attended by over 300 members of the parking industry.
“Some companies have dabbled into the realm of tracking available parking spots, but no one has focused on it so closely like ParKam has.
Think Waze, but for parking. The ParKam app’s camera-based system tracks and directs users to open parking spots. Better than that, it also predicts which spots will still be open by the time you get to them. Like Waze, ParKam was developed in Israel’s “Silicon Wadi,” and it’s not in the U.S.—yet.
Mobile apps like Waze and Google Maps help you avoid the worst traffic. But that is only half the battle. When you arrive at your destination, where will you find parking?
Smart parking company ParKam is leading a world-first smart parking deployment underway at Curtin University in Western Australia.
Parkam offers a smart, computer-based vision and artificial intelligence parking solution that allows the driver to navigate to a real-time free parking space closest to his destination.
Parkam relies on existing security cameras to monitor the amount of parking in the parking lot and steer frustrated drivers straight to available parking.
