We work to the highest hygiene and safety standards when preparing your food in our factory and it is important you do the same when preparing your meal.
On food labels it's important to pay particular attention to:
- Date instructions, such as 'use by' and 'best before' – to avoid or reduce the risk of food poisoning
- Defrosting and cooking times – to make sure that any harmful bugs are killed
- Storage instructions and directions for preparing food – because correct handling can protect us against food poisoning
When preparing food it is important to:
- Always wash your hands and wipe down the surfaces you will be using before and after preparing food
- Keep raw meat away from ready-to-eat foods, such as fruit, bread, salad and cooked meat. These foods aren’t cooked before you eat them, so any bacteria that get onto the foods won't be killed
- Always cover raw meat and store it on the bottom shelf of the fridge where it can't touch or drip onto other foods including cooked meats
